Permissions for Students Under 13
We comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA.) While we rely on the school to grant consent before Bakpax collects any personal information from students under age 13, we want to also ask parents/guardians for consent for two reasons:
(1) We believe parents/guardians should be aware of how their child’s personal information is being used at school.
(2) Granting consent gives the parent/guardian the ability to better control the student's data after they have moved on to other grades.
You can help expedite this process by sending an information sheet home with your students so that their parents/guardians can learn about Bakpax and give consent. They will be asked to email firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line "Parent/Guardian Consent" so that we can get in touch with them.
The information sheet can be found here.
Thanks for the help!
